Like everyone else, I decided to have some new year resolutions too. In addition to resolutions like exercising and watching what I eat, I decided to make a unique resolution. You see I love watching movies but always felt guilty about it. That time could have been spent productively! So I ended up not watching any movies at all in 2008.
Well, this year I felt that I owed it to myself to relax and enjoy a little bit. So I promised myself that I will watch one movie every week. No more no less. Right away I began to feel guilty. That was a lame excuse to indulge in my favorite past time. But three weeks went by in January and I hadn't watched even one.
I shared this with a few friends and they said it was not a bad resolution at all. We are almost into the second week of February. I am a little behind on my promise but I am quite close. I am looking forward to tonight. I have a nice DVD ready to roll.
I am writing this here because I read a fellow blogger say in her blog that she decided to take one photo every day all through the year. I thought that was a cool resolution. Her words kind of motivated to tell my little story here for my faithful followers.

Obama's heart warming letter to his daughters
The Star Telegram had recently published a copy of the letter President Barack Obama wrote to his daughters, titled 'What I want for you and every child'. It appeared in the Parade section on January 18, 2009.
This letter reminded me of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's letters to his daughter Indira Gandhi. Nehru was a freedom fighter and was in jail for opposing the oppressive British Raj. Those letters impressed and molded the future of young Indira Gandhi so much that she grew up to become the first woman Prime Minister of India.
I hope Sasha and Malia take a leaf out of Indira Gandhi's life and attain similar everlasting glory!

Gas Prices!
Gas prices have tumbled to under $2! This happens only in America. In many countries, once price of a commodity goes up, there is no going back. But please don't rush to the pumps to fill 'er up! Don't change your driving habits. Don't give them an excuse to throttle us again.
You taught the Big Oil who's boss! But can they sustain at these prices, given the high cost of crude? Or will they be lining up along Pennsylvania Avenue soon? If they do, boy, the banking industry collapse will be totally overshadowed. I pray for it to not happen. Only time will tell.
But it gladens the heart to know that you and I can make a difference. Just like we did in the recent elections. Hopefully a portion of the the billions of bail out dollars will be earmarked for speeding up alternate, renewable energy research & development.
